This policy explains which personal data Kanoa Lodge collects on kanoalodgemoorea.com, why, how long it is kept, and how to exercise your rights. It applies in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU Regulation 2016/679) and French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on information technology, data files and civil liberties, which applies in French Polynesia.

Do not send us sensitive information in the “message” field. Food allergies are the exception: you may tell us about them, and we will use them only to adapt your meals on half board.
We do not use your data for marketing without your consent, or for profiling. We do not sell it.
3. Recipients
Your data is accessible only to the Kanoa Lodge team in charge of bookings. Our technical service providers may access it as needed for their work:
- o2switch (website hosting, France);
- MC DIGITAL (website design and maintenance, France);
- the lodge's business email provider;
- Google (Google Analytics, audience measurement, if you accept it, United States);
- Microsoft (Clarity, audience measurement, if you accept it, United States);
- Cloudflare (Turnstile, protecting the form against bots, United States);
- Thaïs, our booking engine and hotel management software.
If you contact us via WhatsApp, your messages are also processed by WhatsApp (Meta), under its own privacy policy.
4. Transfers Outside the European Union
Kanoa Lodge is based in French Polynesia, a French territory that is not part of the European Union. The data you send us is therefore accessed from French Polynesia, where the French Data Protection Act applies. When a provider processes data outside the European Union, we ensure the transfer is governed by appropriate safeguards (an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
5. Retention Period
- Booking requests with no follow-up: 3 years from our last exchange.
- Data of guests who have stayed at the hotel: for the duration of the business relationship, then 3 years. Invoices are kept for 10 years (accounting obligation).
- Technical connection data: 12 months maximum.
6. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- access your data and obtain a copy;
- have it corrected or erased;
- object to its processing or request its restriction;
- request its portability;
- set directives on what happens to it after your death.
Write to us at kanoalodgemoorea@gmail.com or to the registered office's postal address, stating your request. We reply within one month.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL: www.cnil.fr, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07.
7. Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Access to the administration area and to received requests is restricted and password-protected.
